Psoriasis varies in severity from person to person, and in the same person at different times. Occasionally psoriasis can disappear spontaneously, but more usually, it is a chronic condition that requires treatment. If you discover that certain things make your psoriasis worse, try to avoid them. It should be noted that all degrees of psoriasis can be treated effectively. The treatment is not a cure, but it will ensure a better quality of life.

After providing written informed consent, participants were assigned an identification code used to access a computerized survey to be completed before their clinical consultation. Technical assistance was provided if requested. Within the survey, participants' preferences were explored using CA. Generation and evaluation of the CA exercises involved (1) identification of key attributes associated with the range of psoriasis treatments; (2) assignment of various levels to the identified treatment attributes; (3) creation of hypothetical treatment scenarios by combining these levels in a random fashion; (4) pairing of the treatment scenarios using an orthogonal design to maximize discrimination of the relative importance of attributes while minimizing the number of choice tasks needed in the set; (5) presentation of choice sets to respondents; and (6) measurement of preferences for the treatment attributes based on the choices made for the presented choice sets.28 The range of currently available treatments was grouped into 6 outcome attributes (probability of benefit, magnitude of benefit, duration of benefit, probability of AEs, AE severity, and AE reversibility) and 5 process attributes (treatment location, frequency, duration, delivery method, and cost for the individual). Four realistic attribute levels, based on currently available treatments, were created for each attribute (Table 1).

OTC Topicals Laser and light sources to treat scalp psoriasis are a challenge due to the presence of hair. One study used a 308 nm excimer laser, a UV light source with a blowing device to part the hair for optimal delivery. Of the patients enrolled, all had failed class 1 topical steroids along with many other topical therapies. A total of 13/15 patients completed the study and all acted as their own control with only half of the scalp being treated.58 After a mean of 29 treatments, there was a 4-point improvement in modified PASI between control and treated areas (P<0.0001).58

Journal of Advanced Chemical Engineering Open Access Journal In the future, combining the determination of serum drug concentrations and the detection of anti-drug antibodies may facilitate therapeutic optimization.42,45-46 Carrascosa et al. describe a model of therapeutic decision based on these assays, considering that, in the case of secondary inefficacy and optimal serum drug concentrations, the treatment should be replaced by a drug with a different mechanism of action.45-46 In cases of suboptimal serum concentrations, anti-drug antibodies should be dosed, with two scenarios depending on the presence or absence of anti-drug antibodies. If antibodies are positive, the drug should be replaced with another, but the mechanism of action may be maintained. In the case of negative antibodies, the dose of the drug may be increased in an attempt to improve the clinical response.45-46 However, the value of immunological tests for detecting anti-drug antibodies in daily clinical practice remains controversial.42
