Psoriasis. American Academy of Dermatology. Anything that can affect the immune system can affect psoriasis. In particular, streptococcus infection (strep throat) is associated with guttate psoriasis (widespread small, red drop-like patches covering large parts of the body). Strep throat often triggers the first onset of guttate psoriasis in children. You may also experience a flare-up of psoriasis following an earache, bronchitis, tonsillitis or a respiratory infection.
People with psoriasis are more likely to experience depression and self-esteem issues. You may feel less confident when new spots appear. Talking with family members about how psoriasis affects you may be difficult. The constant cycle of the condition may be frustrating, too.

It’s also important to speak to the doctor about the aims of treatment and to understand that treatment may alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis, but cannot cure the underlying immune dysfunction which causes the disease. Psoriasis is a life-long condition and is associated with significant morbidity (ill health). However, people with the condition may underestimate the severity of their condition and the impact psoriasis has on their health. For example, in one study 39% of people reported psoriasis affected > 10% of skin surface; however, only 17% classified their disease as severe.
Off Western Express Highway, Sunshine Tiếng Việt Plaque is the thickened areas of skin that often have a white or silvery, scaled appearance. They tend to appear most on elbows, knees, and lower back but may form anywhere on the body.
Although the treatment is less messy than topical treatment and may produce remissions lasting several months, repeated treatments may increase the incidence of UV-induced skin cancer and melanoma. Less UV light is required when used with oral retinoids (the so-called re-PUVA regimen). NBUVB light (311 to 312 nm), which is used without psoralens, is similar in effectiveness to PUVA. Excimer laser therapy is a type of phototherapy using a 308-nm laser directed at focal psoriatic plaques.

The AAD recommends a set of baseline laboratory studies before starting treatment with a biologic agent to ensure any underlying conditions or risk factors are understood. [35, 38] Some patients with chronic hepatitis C may be safely treated with biologic agents, while active hepatitis B is still considered a contraindication.

Individuals with psoriasis may develop neutralizing antibodies against monoclonal antibodies. Neutralization occurs when an antidrug antibody prevents a monoclonal antibody such as infliximab from binding antigen in a laboratory test. Specifically, neutralization occurs when the antidrug antibody binds to infliximab's antigen binding site instead of TNF-α. When infliximab no longer binds tumor necrosis factor alpha, it no longer decreases inflammation, and psoriasis may worsen. Neutralizing antibodies have not been reported against etanercept, a biologic drug that is a fusion protein composed of two TNF-α receptors. The lack of neutralizing antibodies against etanercept is probably secondary to the innate presence of the TNF-α receptor, and the development of immune tolerance.
